There has been no official regulation regulating the hygiene procedures that tattoo artists must follow. This meant that everyone did it as they saw fit. For example, we at Hell were based on processes in hospitals, and just in case, we raised the demands a little.
This year, however, the European standard CEN/TC 435 was finally approved, which clearly formulates the hygiene rules and processes around tattoos. Yes, EU regulations are sometimes a bit nonsensical (such as banning the names "pomazánkové máslo" and "tuzemský rum", um...), but we really needed this standard. Both big studios and freelance tattoo artists now know exactly what and how. And customers can be sure that if they go to someone who adheres to the standard, they are definitely in good hands in terms of hygiene.
For more than four years, the standard has been compiled by an international team of experts – from tattoo artists to doctors to bacteriologists. Hell's founder, Míla Bugtcher, kicked for the Czech Republic. The CEN/TC 435 standard will enter into force at the turn of 2018 and 2019.
If you are one of the tattoo artists who want to play by the rules and offer customers top service not only in their skill, but also in the field of hygiene, we have prepared a lecture about the CEN/TC 435 standard for you so that you do not have to study it in a complicated way. Míla Bugtcher will explain what the standard entails in comprehensible language (Míla holt can do that) and, most importantly, give practical instructions on what and how you must comply with the standard to meet the standard.
