A traveller, photographer, cartoonist, but mainly a tattoo artist and the newest reinforcement to Hell, she will take care of your beautification from January. Anastazia is a pleasant redhead who got from documentary film to tattoo machine by drawing one picture.
You're going to be a new face to most people, can you tell us how you got into tattooing in the first place?
I've been drawing and painting since I was a kid, I've always been inspired by nature. I got into tattooing in 2012. I uploaded one of my pictures to Facebook and several people contacted me who wanted a tattoo design from me. At that time, I had finished my studies in documentary filmmaking and I was looking for what I was going to do next.
For two years I drew designs for people to order, but it was tattooed by professional tattoo artists. Thanks to this, I saw how to make a tattoo correctly.
How long did it take you to start tattooing your designs yourself?
I knew from the beginning that I wanted to tattoo my designs to people. I made my first tattoo in 2014. In Ukraine, I worked with a lot of tattoo artists, but I saw the mistakes and changes they made from the original design. For me, it was important that the first tattoo I tattoo was well done, so I did not underestimate the preparation. I also moved to Prague that year, so I could no longer work with the tattoo artists I knew.
Why Prague?
I was in Prague for the first time when I was twelve. I liked it a lot at the time and I wanted to live here from my first visit. Prague has a lot of beautiful sights, but also friendly people. In Ukraine, a tattooed person on the street can still upset someone, but here people do not care, there are more tattooed people.
What about your own tattoo style? It's already something solid, or you're always looking for yourself.
I prefer to tattoo nature and colors. Customers want my own designs, so that's probably my style. I enjoy Norse mythology, so a lot of the designs are inspired by that. I also tattoo magic patterns, but for aesthetics, not as a magic tattoo (laughs).
Where would you like to develop in tattooing next?
Definitely dotwork and neo-traditional. I enjoy it.... Both design and tattoo.
The tattoo opened the gates to the world where it took you?
I have guest-made tattoo artists in studios in Russia, Germany and Ukraine. This summer I also participated in the first tattoo competition in Jaroměř. There I placed fourth in the color category. That was a great experience for me, I like to go to other events.
When you have a moment off, what's the best way to spend it?
I usually ride a longboard. When I can travel somewhere I go. I enjoy traveling probably the most. Now I was in London, among other things. I also take a lot of pictures, I take my camera with me wherever I go. And when I'm at home, I'm with my cat.
The greatest joy will be a person who wants to tattoo something colorful with a natural theme. When can we look forward to seeing you in Hell?
People at the reception can book appointments now. I will start tattooing from the eighth of January.
